Japanese designer Tatsuya Togo’s brand Three Blind Mice have produced an interesting Spring/Summer 2013 collection based on a meeting of tailored items and a looser, more casual aesthetic, presented in a correspondingly mixed palette of neutral and vibrant colors – in particular, blue. Entitled ‘True Blue’, the collection takes its name from a song by Dirty Beaches, aka Alex Zhang Hungtai, while drawing inspiration from the city of Hong Kong, seen through the blue filter of filmmaker Wong Kar Wai’s Fallen Angels. The results are refreshing – there are no references to military or ‘work wear’ here, yet the items maintain a classic, stylish appeal. A fittingly oriental vibe runsthrough the line – cropped pants make an appearance, as do collarless shirts, and outerwear is elongated but light. (EYESCREAM)
