Beginning as an experiment in transformation and repurposing, Shwood’s ‘Newspaper Collection’ aims to return paper to something like its original state. The capsule collection was created using a proprietary technique that took 1,600 feet of newsprint, winding it into a 4-inch diameter ‘log’, before being sawn into thin plies to reveal a unique wood-like texture. With dense lines, swirling grains and a hint of text, each pair is different from the next. Comprised of three versions of the brand’s signature ‘Canby’ frame, as well as the Wood Select, the Shwood Newspaper collection is available now online and at select retailers worldwide.
