Commonwealth made a lot of noise in 2014 when they teamed up with Asics to create the ‘Gemini’ iteration of the famed Gel Lyte V. Keeping their momentum high and proving that they have much more up their sleeves, the Virginia-based retailer has linked up with Asics once again to present ‘Da Vinci.’ Commonwealth’s co-founder Omar Quiambao stated that today’s youth has a diverse array of interests, and are able to simultaneously excel in multiple fields – essentially making today’s youth modern Renaissance people. Leonardo da Vinci – one of the biggest faces in the Renaissance – also served as a major inspiration for this project. The sepia tones of his sketches can be found in the uppers of these kicks, and to add on to the project’s authenticity, Commonwealth aims to include a custom sketchpad inside every shoebox. The sneakers are set to release on March 21st for $170. Head over to Commonwealth for more details.
