Following SS15’s first offering from the adidas and Rick Owens partnership – the striking Blade Runner sneakers – it’s time to take a look at the collaboration’s second style, the minimal and strange Superstar boot. Showcasing the same design principles exhibited throughout the collaboration’s history – a dark blend of the two brand’s opposing aesthetics – the boot combines luxurious leather uppers with adidas’ iconic Superstar sole and shell-toe, creating a weird and unique silhouette; one that in theory should never work, but in practice, totally does.
