If you’re privy to the world of artist tags, you’ve probably come across the signature of famed artist, Curtis Kulig which reads “Love Me,” stylized in a unique cursive. Is imitation the biggest form of flattery? Either art is becoming increasingly cyclical, or the appropriation of art is becoming the new rage. A New York-based artist who goes by “Don’t Loveme” also bears a style oddly close to Kulig’s signature lettering and color pallet, but claims to have been running with this aesthetic for more than ten years. Having thrown-up everywhere from Miami to Tokyo, Don’t Loveme has released a “mockumentary”in which he discusses a healthy range of topics spanning from his origin to his sphere of influence. Additionally, Don’t Loveme has released a 9-piece capsule collection comprised of various goods including a crewneck sweater, a branded match-book condom and two custom pairs of Nike Air Max 90 HYPs – all of which can be purchased here.
