This Spring Hanon joins forces with US running brand BROOKS to present a collaborative edition of their Chariot running shoe. The collaborative edition of the Chariot points to Hanon’s roots in the north east of Scotland and takes some color cues from their hometown as well as the ‘Scotch Bonnet’ chili – named after the iconic Tam O’ Shanter hat. Reflecting the granite grey of Aberdeen the shoe is specced up and executed in a super rich pig suede whilst fiery red accents appear by way of a contrasting tongue and toe overlay. A rich green glove leather collar lining completes the shoe.
Attention to detail appears throughout the Chariot. Hanon added granite flecks on the side stripe and heel counter, a dual branded woven tongue label and footbed, switched out the vamp from mesh to a sunburst perforated suede and executed the back tab in a full reflective 3M application. Finally their flame logo is detailed via a key line emboss on each heel.
Launched in 1982, the Chariot was designed as a technical runner featuring an upper of premium suedes, nylon and performance mesh. Built for stability and with cushioning in mind, the shoe incorporates a 3 part EVA sole unit with Brooks’ diagonal roll bar system (DRB) – a technology designed to withstand the rigour of continuous training.
Hanon x Brooks Chariot ‘Scotch Bonnet’ is released on Saturday February 7th 2015. Each pair will come complete with 3 contrasting sets of laces, a custom made dust bag and bespoke tissue paper.
