Right after it was announced at Agenda New York, we shared a few teaser images of the huge collaboration between Staple and Timberland. Although details were rather sparse, more details have just emerged, reaffirming that the collaboration was just as dope as fans have projected.
The collection is inspired by the phenomenon known as “Polar Night,” where certain regions on the Earth, at certain times of the year, experience periods of darkness for more than 24 hours. Staple internalized this phenomenon and related it to a way of life – no matter how cold, dark or long, man must find a way to survive. The Lace Ox model is inspired by Timberland’s Abington Cap-Toe Oxford, and has been updated with a Helcor leather toe, contrasting white sole and “pigeon pink” accents. The GT Scramble incorporates side zippers, dark leathers and Helcor accents, along with “pigeon pink” and white contrasts. Lastly, the Nordic Field Boot is an ode to Nordic 90s style hiking boots up top, with a classic field boot bottom. Dark leather also makes up this upper, and is complimente with a dark sole, reflective heel tab and “pigeon pink” accents.
Look for the Staple X Timberland #PolarNight collection on January 30th at select Timberland retailers.
