Arriving as part of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection, the latest drop from Supreme is influenced by the late Swiss painter and sculptor, H.R. Giger. Giger’s work has been described as ‘biomechanical’, a seamless visual union between the organic and the mechanic — cyborg, in other words. Much of the inspiration for his work came from terrifying nightmares he had throughout his career, and the results are wildly imaginative paintings of surrealistic landscapes and lifeforms. Giger’s 1977 compilation ‘Necronomicon’ was the inspiration for Ridley Scott’s ‘Xenomorph’ creature in Alien, and these images and more have made their way onto a series of t-shirts, skate decks, a jacket and hoodie from Supreme.
The grip of haunting graphic gear will be available from Supreme stores on October 9th (except Japan – they get it October 11th).
