Ronnie Fieg and Kith NYC are riding out 2013 with one of the most epic of streetwear capsules ever created, entitled “New York Natives – 1996.” The idea? To re-imagine Kith as it would have been in the year 1996 when legendary Brooklyn rapper AZ popped off.
To bring the NYC streetwear institution back to this important year, RF and Kith are dropping a new collection of retro shoes, apparel, and accessories, inspired by the brands and musical influences of the era.
Two Golden Bear Varsity Jackets ($400 USD) are the cornerstone of the collection. The burgundy colorway features all-leather sleeves, while the orange sports clad nubuck. Both designs are laced with custom Navajo knit ribbing.
The New York Native Washington Hooded Rugby ($125 USD) is decorated with a flashy New York Native appliqué at front, over-sized 1996 on the back, and Native American head embroidery and Kith sport logo on the tough-as-nails fleece arms.
The New York Native Jefferson Striped Button Down Shirt ($100 USD) has a medium weight cotton for durability. Sublimated print makes up the front, while brown marbled buttons finish off the look.
The Stanton Sweatpant ($88 USD) utilizes heavy weight fleece — perfect for fighting cold-weather NY temps — tapered down to a slim fit leg hole.
Logo NYN Crewnecks ($95 USD) also feature fleece, along with raglan sleeves and ribbed side gussets, New York Native print logo on the front, 1996 on the back,
The New York Native Starter Snapbacks ($45 USD) come in a trio. The first two sport New York Native branding on the crown in raised embroidery, while the third features the Native American motif.
