This interview with Shinsuke Takizawa makes for an impressive read. Compiled by Moscow based retailer Belief, the interview provides a great insight into the man and his iconic brand, Neighborhood.

I know you friend, collaborate and are inspired by Kostas Seremetis, Jeff Deckerand Cole Foster for example. Who else you would like to collaborate with next? It may be a secret you would not want to reveal, but still … what are your current interests? The ideas and values of new Neighborhood collections. In the past I chose close friends as collaboration partners – Jeff Decker (a bronze artist), Hiroshi Fujiwara, Jack White. They were all “underground” in a sense that they were not very known and the idea was to introduce these unique artists to the public through NEIGHBORHOOD. I still do this, but going forward I will probably pick some world famous names as collaboration partners. SVG, ONETHIRD, various exclusive collaborations – all great things we like Neighborhood for. And what about women’s lines? There used to be many great pieces, but it’s been a while …
There have been many requests to release women’s lines. However, women’s market is quite different from the men’s market and what I realized … women’s wear tends to move with the trend. And therefore, there is kind of a conflict for me – I’m not up to speed with this, I honestly do not follow trends. So, no specific plans here. However, if there comes the right time when I could be able to create women’s wear with no need to follow trends, I will probably go for it.

Pieces employ unlined, breathable, and supremely lightweight materials from head to toe, providing avid athletes with the ability to pursue their passion despite sweltering conditions. The collection’s trademark color palette speaks to Takahashi’s urban-rural accord with subtle city tones and natural hues, which are popped this season by bright Mesa orange, lush Victory green, and fuchsia Sangria pink. The Nike x Undercover Gyakusou collection will be availble globally starting March 2nd, 2013 at select Nike retailers.

Our Legacy Autumn/Winter 2013 “OFFICIAL” Collection Lookbook

Our Legacy Autumn/Winter 2013 "OFFICIAL" Collection Lookbook Our Legacy continues to throw darts at the notion of menswear from their always refreshing sometimes quirky point of view. Their latest offerings see inspirations drawn from the seemingly mundane and institutionalized idea of the uniform re-imagined. Parody gives way to luxury as cheapened textiles such as nylon, and mesh play alongside supremely woolen knits; striping dull silhouettes of their bargin basement identity and given the uniform a new meaning. This notion is added by a short film directed by Kristian Bengtsson as seen below. Our thoughts lead us to believe that Our Legacy will continue to lead from a position of true progressive thinking in regards to menswear rather then settling into the pack.

N. Hoolywood Fall/Winter 2013 Collection
Amelia Earhart dreamt of soaring the skies ever since she was a young girl. She would eventually soar to fame as the first female aviator to complete a solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean in 1932. This great accomplishment was merely the first of Amelia’s many efforts to improve the role of women in society, as she continued to bring dreams to the people through her publications, lectures, and of course flights.
Crucial parts of her success were the many men who instructed her in flight techniques and provided as much support and possible from the ground. The look of these men who worked alongside her in piloting, maintenance, and business has been incorporated into this season’s designs along with other historical background from the 1920s.
From safety-first pilot fashion to the shirts and scarves that Amelia loved, this season features many aviation elements as symbols of an era that was in love with flying, and also as a way of paying homage to the iconic Amelia and the men who supported her successes over the years.

Y-3 Fall/Winter 2013 Collection Yohji Yamamoto has not pursued a big theme for the Y-3 Fall/Winter 2013 Collection, while the Japanese designer applies more finer tailoring to the collection than usual. The strong collection is highlighted by an experimental approach to length and volume while touches of fluorescent green and orange are applied to an abundance of black, olive and charcoal while the use of a refined plaid finishes a great instalment.

Wooden Lego Blocks by Mokurokku

Here is a fascinating rendition of the iconic LEGO block. All be it slightly backward considering considering LEGO have used a modern ABS plastic since the 40′s, the use of a natural wood from Japanese firm Mokurokku really appeals. They seem to be compatible with the original design, and it would be really great to see the two paired with each other.

Tim Coppens Fall/Winter 2013 Collection
Tim Coppens ventures back to his adolescence as the central inspiration for his fall-winter 2013 collection.  An exploration of the street culture of his youth, references to skateboarding and graffiti prevail in the collection, developed with modern silhouettes and graphic details.  A bomber jacket serves as the starting silhouette for the collection, updated with sleeves lined with graphic zippers that recall the padding and volume of a youth’s skateboarding gear.  Parkas, coats and shirting also feature these voluminous sleeves, paired with clean silhouettes that lend a graphic look to the collection.  The sleeves of sleek cardigans and knits are adorned with leather panels that echo the dynamic lines of the zippers that line the outerwear.  Tailoring is explored with minimal jackets, coats and pants made with a heavy wool woven with grey and white to create a dynamic fabric that brings to mind screen static. The collection is dominated by white, greys and black, with touches of navy and a rich burgundy, forming a stark palette for the graphic shapes of this collection.  Prints are inspired by the splatter and lines of graffiti, and lend a sporty feel to a sleek collection.  Double-faced wools, neoprenes and foam leather serve as the foundation, lending itself to the stiff and voluminous shapes that dominate the collection.  As always, an attention to detail illuminates the impeccability of the garments.  Zippers and closures are made from copper in stark contrast with the dark fabrics, and minimal snap closures are further concealed with hidden fabric panels, further minimizing any distractions from the tailoring.  This attention to detail is continued even where it cannot be seen, where outerwear is adorned with shocking fluorescent inner linings, an homage to the rebellion of youth.
