Imbued with a spontaneity and freshness that comes with a Mediterranean upbringing, Vincent Tokatlian, (who’s previously worked with BWGH and Carven), launches his own menswear label, Toka-Toka. The inaugural collection from SS15 takes inspiration from the atmosphere of open space, and more noticeably, nautical themes – a nice manifestation of the designer’s sense of ‘joie de vivre’, which for the non-French speakers sits somewhere between nonchalance and pleasure seeking. The debut collection, titled, ‘Nautical Club’, looks promising, marrying vintage workwear and sportswear in a chill, non-fussy manner. The SS15 line-up is set to launch at select retailers including Centre Commercial in Paris and United Arrows in Tokyo in the coming weeks.
