Uniqlo has announced their collaboration with one of Japan’s most renowned theater companies, Shochiku Co., Ltd. Kabuki is a globally recognized classical performing art that originated over 400 years ago during the Ero Period in Japanese history. Uniqlo and Shochiku best identify with tenets of shin-zen-bi, which stands for truth, goodness and beauty. UT Creative Director, Nigo, worked with Shochiku and one of Kabuki’s most beloved stars, Ichikawa Ennosuke IV, to select the most ideal designs, cuts and materials inspired by the Kabuki’s costumes and elaborate stage makeup. The collaborative effort will debut in France on March 20th, followed by the U.S. market on march 23rd. Find more details here.
