Naked and Famous is a Canadian brand that is highly regarded for their innovations in the realm of premium, unwashed denim. We had the pleasure of connecting with the brand at Capsule NYC 2015 a few weeks ago to learn about the many exciting projects they have slated for release in the coming months. Separated by two looks, we have a teaser of the brand’s latest forays.
Look 1:
The Natural Indigo Loomstate is made from 13oz selvedge denim that has been treated with natural indigo and preserved in its Loomstate form. These jeans are produced the old fashion way and haven’t been subjected to any pre-shrinking or anti-skewing processes. The 5oz RegularShirt depicted here has been done up a navy iteration of Naked and Famous’ “Sumo” print, and pays homage to the Japanese style of wrestling. The DenimJacket is made from unbleached cotton, and has visible cotton seeds if you take a closer look.
Look 2:
The Red Weft Stretch Selvedge is made from 12oz selvedge denim. The high power stretch fibers will cause the jeans to stretch out with wear and return to the original shape over time. The jeans’ outer yarns are rope dyed with indigo, while the inner yarns are a red weft and they’ve all been treated to an indigo over dye. So, when you cuff these jeans, you can show off the red hue, but with wear and tear, the jeans will fade from dark indigo to white with red undertones. Lastly, featured here is the RegularShirt in the “Big Tropical” print, available in both indigo and black.
