There’s nothing quite like the simplicity and design legacy of the travel alarm clock (iPhones don’t count). Braun set the benchmark all those years ago, and Carhartt WIP is keeping the legacy alive with a newly customized take on one of Dietrich Lubs’ and Dieter Rams’ most recognizable designs. The brand has released a new edition of the legendary AB1A travel alarm clock, first seen in the 1980s. Carhartt WIP obviously knows when to leave well enough alone, choosing only to add their own branding and a couple of colored buttons, but it’s the thought that counts — and should be commended for bringing this design back around again. It’s available now via the brand’s online store.
