Japanese denim afincionados Edwin have teamed up with Scotland’s Alexander Leathers for the first time — a pairing that has resulted in a super premium, detail-laden collection of coats and jackets. Completely handmade (with some pieces taking up to four days to construct), the collection is definitely aimed at the connoisseurs out there – with details including talon zippers, Horween Chromexcel leather, shearling mouton, Blood Chit patches, 14oz Japanese granite denim, USN stencils, and more additional features than you could shake a stick at. Each of the eight jackets have been modeled after original US Air Force styles, and include a ‘Type D1′, ‘A2′ and ‘M422A’, as well as a ‘Cafe Racer’ and British Millerain waxed coat. Rounding out the lineup, a shawl collar belted ‘Barnstormer’, ‘Simmons Bilt’ and furry ‘Grizzly’ each take inspiration from styles of the 1930s, and are the standouts here.
