Streetwear has always been extremely male dominated. Granted, there’s been a level of appropriation by the fairer sex in recent times (Tumblr, we’re looking your way), but in general, this is a man’s world. Which is why it’s cool to see Dutch illustrator Careaux put a feminine spin on things with her latest series, reworking iconic streetwear logos via a pink floral treatment. The series was commissioned by our UK brethren The Daily Street, indeed with the intention of feminizing this realm. Careaux herself has been building up quite the portfolio recently, with a solo show at Jeff Staple‘s Reed Space a couple of months back.
