Manifest Destiny never looked so good. For centuries, Mexico’s native Huichol Tribe has sustained a way of life detached from outside influence. Based in mountainous regions such as Jalisco and Nayarit, they’ve been able to mostly resist assimilation with modern society. Until now!
Vault by Vans had the honor of partnering with the Huichol tribe to create shoes highlighting their aesthetic, an intricate combination of beading and embroidery. This collaboration, which utilizes the ‘Sk8-Hi’ and ‘Slip-On’ silhouettes, came to fruition over the course of ten months, and each of the hand-embroidered shoes proves to be a part of cultural history. Check out this awesome video for a glimpse into the process:
This #veryrare capsule will be limited to 360 pairs worldwide. You can find them September 20th at select Vans Vault stockists, including the Vans DQM General.
