In terms of fashion, New York makes a ton of noise. Sure, Tokyo could be considered more influential at this point on a global scale, but NYC will probably always be the leaders of the western world. Living here, you can’t help but bump shoulders with upcoming designers, models and general purveyors of clothing. Whether you’re strolling in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, SoHo, or NoLita – or exploring Brooklyn neighborhoods like Flatbush, Williamsburg and Bed-Stuy – you’re bound to come across someone who is connected to the industry. This week, Mercedez Benz Fashion Week takes off in New York before scaling the globe, so that omnipresent connection to fashion is amplified further. Obviously, style is always on our minds, but this week it’s the only thing on our minds.
So for this week’s SlamXStyle, we wanted to share some of our favorite recent pieces from brands that are currently being featured at New York Fashion Week 2014. It should be noted that Spring/Summer 2015 gear isn’t available yet, so these pieces are from current Fall/Winter 2014 collections — perfect for your wardrobe going into colder months.
