Every year, the powers that be (FIFA? The host country? Some random people?) pick a set of official World Cup songs. This year there are four, but they’re basically all by Shakira and Pitbull. Either way though, we did some digging into the history of these World Cup anthems and here’s what we found out: they’re crazy.
One year, Il Divo, a “multinational operatic pop vocal group”, and Toni Braxton did a love ballad together. Another year, R. Kelly was featured on a track.
