Soulland‘s pre-Fall 2014 inspiration came from a mid-summer trip to the Stockholm Archipelago – a land of long nights, bonfires, skinny-dipping, herring, strawberries, aquavit (Swedish schnapps), and weed. A lot of weed in fact, because the legendary herb ended up making it into the collection as both its central motif and mediocre title. Summerhouses, flags, bonfires and hemp leaves are all included in the Copenhagen-based brand’s new offering of easy-going garments, each printed on t-shirts, shorts, sweats and jersey pants. Classic Oxford shirt are also subverted with prints, including the subtle appearance of the sticky icky once again, comfortingly re-asserting that it’s always 4:20 somewhere in the world. Big up Soulland for the reminder.
