2Pac was known for his music. That statement is obvious. But beyond his music – and his acting and his poetry, he was known for his trendsetting taste in streetwear.

That all came to a terrible end on September 13, 1996, in Las Vegas, when ‘Pac got shot. But what if he hadn’t, what if the world hadn’t been deprived of one of its best musicians and dressers? What would 2Pac wear if he were still alive in 2014?

For this week’s SlamXGarb, a weekly curated outfit for a diverse collection of people and events, we answer that question. See below.

The Timberland “40 Below” Super Boot

TIMS_OS

Back in November 2013, Timberland updated the “40 Below” Super Boot that 2Pac made famous in 1992′s Juice. The label got A$AP Rocky to promote the newest iteration of the classic footgear. But if 2Pac were still alive today, he could and probably would have done that himself.

The UNDFTD Arc Zip Hoody

When 2Pac died, the East and West Coast were still in the thick of their not-liking-eachother thing. It’s hard to tell whether Shakur, had he lived, would have eventually gotten over that beef, but if he wanted to go all-made-in-LA, he could start with one of the modern versions of his staple hoodies from UNDFTD.

The Public School Quilted Biker Vest

VEST_OS

2Pac loved his leather vests; he basically made them ok for streetwear kids to rock. No one makes leather vests like NYC’s Public School, and though he’d have to cheat on his West Coast labels to get one, maybe he would.

The John Elliott Co+ Quilted Escobar Sweatpants

The fit may have changed since 2Pac’s day, but the sweatpants is as much a staple of streetwear as ever. 2Pac would probably have gotten himself a pair of John Elliott + Co‘s tapered-leg Escobar pants.

The Stampd Black And White Bandana

BANDANA_OS

‘Pac could have kept his West Coast label-repping going with one of Stampd LA’s clean bandanas. The headgear was as much a part of any 2Pac outfit as anything else.

The Jewelry By Guillermo Andrade of 424 On Fairfax

No one knows how to deck out LA’s most fashionable people in vintage and new jewelry like Guillermo Andrade. If 2Pac were alive today, he’d without question be involved with Mr. Andrade and his 424 On Fairfax label.
