Twenty years ago, the Nike Tennis design team created the “burning ball” logo inspired by the type of tennis Nike stood for: fast, furious and unapologetic. The mark was first used on the Nike Air Tech Challenge and was added to the neon colors, denim and spandex of that era’s Challenge Court collection. In 2012 the spirit of Nike Tennis remains the same. The fire still burns.
To pay homage to 1992, Nike Tennis has created a new Flame collection. The Air Zoom Vapor 9 Tour, Air Max Courtballistec 4.3 and Breathe 2K12 have been released with the same visual design for the first time. Roger Federer will wear the Air Zoom Vapor 9 Tour in London in November. The collection is available onwww.nike.com beginning November 1.
