Last week, a friend and I wore the exact same outfit to another friend’s birthday party (light wash Acne jeans, baby blue, Nike dunks, and Band of Outsiders grey pullovers). Okay, so that’s an unfortunate occurrence, but not the end of the world, right?
Wrong.
One of the best things about wearing something distinctive is avoiding comparisons. You see, our individual clothing choices allow us to deflect from personal judgments. When we wear the same thing, we start wondering who looks best in the given outfit, (which is why, among many, many, many, many, other reasons that I hate The Gap).
Fortunately for me, I’m about to turn the tables and judge the shit out of these celebs.
Jay Z and Kid Cudi in Radarte
Even though having Beyoncé by your side bumps your status up about 1,000 points, I’m going to have to give this one to Kid Cudi.
50 Cent and Snoop Dogg In Matching Furs
Snoop Dogg may be 60 years old but he can still rock a fur coat better than most. That and 50 Cent needs to put on a shirt or join the closest Equinox. Yeah, I said it.
J Cole and DJ Drama in Versace
To be honest, they both look like shit and should be publicly condemned for wearing that sweater in the first place. Sometimes, there are no winners.
Jay Z and Lil Wayne in White Tee’s and Cross Necklaces
The white tee with jeans is a staple of hip hop fashion. No one does this better than Weezy.
Pharrell and Andre 3000 in Fedoras and Green Cardigans
If you haven’t heard, Andre 3000, who has always been known for his bold fashion choices, is making a comeback. While this is great news for all of us, he is going to have to catch up with this years king of chic, Pharrell.
Drake and Kanye West in Margiella Masks and American Eagle Tanks
Drake sported a fake version of Kanye’s Maison Martin Margiela mask and bald eagle tank as his Halloween costume this year. I love the effort, but nothing beats the original.
Grimes and 2 Chainz in Versace
Grimes. But shout-out to 2 Chainz for for going all out with this one.
A$AP Rocky and Wacka Flocka Flame in Givenchy’s Bird of Paradise Print
I’ve got to give this one to A$AP Rocky for the matching hat and pants. Wearing head to toe Givenchy is basically always a win.
