Even if you could somehow bribe enough people to get tickets to every NY Fashion Week show, there’s no human being alive who can be everywhere at once. So, you’re going to have to pick and choose.
Here’s the 8 Must-See NYFW shows, taken from the absurdly packed NYFW 2014 Schedule, which you can see in it’s entirety over at New York Magazine‘s website.
Public School
You need to go see Public School‘s show for three reasons. First, they just won CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund 2013′s Top Honors. Secondly, they’re debuting their womenswear line. And third, they simply make the most killer of Downtown NYC fashion pieces.
Their show is part of Made Fashion Week, February 9th, 11:00 AM, 2nd Floor of Milk Studios.
Alexander Wang
Alexander Wang decided to break every NYFW convention and bring his 2014 show over to Brooklyn. He told WWD, “We found this incredible space, and it corresponds very well to this season’s creative concept.”
So, he’s making his buyers and press people brave the cold and the 20-minute post-subway walk to Duggal Greenhouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard on Saturday, February 8th for an 8:00 PM show.
Hood By Air
Hood By Air had the wildest, most scarily entertaining show of NY Fashion Week 2013, featuring both androgynous model Boychild and A$AP Rocky to close. Since then, the imprint has seemingly been everywhere and #yeezus only knows what they have in store for this year.
Their show is part of Made Fashion Week as well. It goes down at Chelsea Piers on Sunday, February 9th at 12:00 PM.
Mark McNairy New Amsterdam
Mark McNairy is one of NYC’s #menswear dons. That’s reason enough to see his show. But, last year his terrifying clown-inspired ski masks + whimsical polkadot outfits were the highlights of the whole week.
His show kicks off on Tuesday, February 11th at 12:00 PM “share” at Eyebeam.
En Noir
If En Noir‘s Spring/Summer 2014 lookbook is any indication, the New York imprint has some beautiful clothes up their sleeves for FW14.
Their show is at The Armory on Tuesday, February 11th, 7:00 PM.
Diesel Black Gold
Nicola Formichetti has been repositioning Diesel since the label’s founder, Renzo Rosso, gave him free-reign over the imprint in 2013. Besides his Tokyo Leather Orgy Event and Nick Knight-shot lookbook for his Diesel Tribute Leather line, this week’s show will be his moment to show the world what he’s been working on.
The Diesel Black Gold show is part of Mercedes Benz FW, Tuesday, February 11th at 1:00 PM at 360 West 33rd Street.
All Saints
Yeah, you’re thinking, “AllSaints? No way. That’s a mall brand. F*ck You.” But after almost going bankrupt a few years ago, the British retailer has been revamping its offerings, basically copying Saint Laurent’s urban grunge designs but at a price point normal human beings can actually afford.
So put your obnoxious #menswear biases away, and go to the label’s all-day show on Tuesday, February 11th starting at 9:30 AM at High Line Stages.
Jeremy Scott
Remember when Jeremy Scott totally stole Santa Cruz Skateboards‘ monster face designs for his FW13 showcase? Well, how will the wild man of mens fashion bounce back?
Find out during his Made Fashion Week show on Wednesday, February 12that 1:00 PM on the 2nd Floor of Milk Studios.
Good luck, and if you’re trying to go all out with your outfit this week, just avoid freezing to death in one of these three getups.
