The first thing you need to know about our Editor-In-Chief Greg Weinstein, is that he goes way back with Ronnie Fieg. So, when the Kith man set up his Coat Of Arms Pop-Up in Paris to ring in the 2014, we knew he’d be be along for the ride.
So sure enough, guess where he is… yeah, Paris. Here’s what’s going down. The journey began 3 days ago…
Tuesday

Greg shipped out, jumping a flight to The City Of Light and some how slipping past all the absurd airlines flight fuck ups that were caused by the most unbearable cold front ever, known as the “Polar Vortex.”
After what we can only imagine was a a bevy of scotches, Greg fell into a fitful, jet lagged sleep and emerged Wednesday morning for the start of the real action.

Greg visited Kith’s COA Paris Pop-Up Shop, which kicked off mid-week in the heart of the city, specifically at 23 Rue De Roi De Sicile in a two floor storefront. The gallery space was left mostly open, with pure white walls punctuated by lines of mirrors each reflecting a different installment in the space: a mobile of footwear dangling at the end of wires, a similarly suspended display of collaborations between Kith and PUMA, John Elliott + Co, Focused Space, ISAORA, and a candle wax replicas of the shoes.

If you want to feel what it was like to actually shop the capsule, it went something like this: Each morning, 84 tickets were given out to customers. Each golden ticket gave them time-specific access to the store. One their specific time arrived, each group of shoppers was ushered in, given a video about the campaign, then a guided walkthrough of the whole collection from apparel to footwear. Purchases were then allowed post-presentation.
What was Greg doing during all this shopping madness? Hanging with Kith’s “Just Us” crew and a collection of the creative in town for Paris Fashion Week, and by that we mean Victor Cruz, Futura, John Elliott, 13th Witness, Jon Buscemi, Chris Stamp, Joe La Puma, and more.
There was also dinner at Le Matignon, drinks at Silencio — yes, it’s a private club.

Thursday Night

But it wasn’t until Thursday night when the real fun began:
Virgil Abloh, who was on hand to promote
his OFF-WHITE brand, and
BEEN TRILL hosted a party at Club 79. There were drinks, drinks, more drinks. Then, there was
Kanye West showing up in a flat black Porsche, decked out in a
Wes Anderson customized leather jacket.
Needless-to-say Club 79 got rowdy. You’ve perhaps already seen this Instagram video of Kanye dancing on tables, but it’s worth watching again.

In case you were curious, Greg survived Thursday night, and is back out-and-about sight seeing through Paris. Kith’s COA Pop-Up continues through January 22nd, but our intrepid boss will be returning to the States tomorrow AM.
Until then, follow his adventures on his Instagram and, if you yourself are lucky enough to be in France’s capital, we have this to say: f*ck you and we wish you luck getting a golden ticket to the Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory of streetwear.
