Following the launch of his project TRANSFIGURATION in 2011 – a modest gallery space attached to a photography workshop and skateboard bowl – Russian fashion designer, photographer and film maker Gosha Rubchinskiy‘s work is to be the subject of TRANSFIGURATION BOOK, an printed extension of the same project. Published by Junsuke Yamasaki with design work by Pavel Milyatov, the book promises to expand on the culture that TRANSFIGURATION has laid the groundwork for as a hub for young artists in the area. Expect to see themes of Russian religious roots and commentary of the clash between Russian post-soviet mentality and growing up in the country undergoing huge political, economical and cultural change after dissolution of the USSR in 1991.
