SlamXWeekly

The writers and editors at SlamXHype spend their whole lives on the Internet — yes, it’s sad– scouring the vast reaches and recesses of it’s digital landscape to find the coolest shit around. They’re black belts at it.

Some of that stuff finds it’s way onto SlamXHype’s website, others come straight here as SlamXWeekly, a curated set of links to the best and most awesome stuff that the interwebs has to offer.

SlamXWeekly hits every Friday, so check out the round up below then, then check back next week for more.

Monday

We’re only half a week into 2014 and Miley Cyrus is already gunning for YouTube records: her video “Adore You” plays on all the Internet’s heartstrings. It’s sexually charged (she’s basically wearing see-through underwear and touching herself). It’s controversial (did we mention touching herself?). And it’s music (the Internet loves noises). So accordingly, Miley’s climbed to the top of Billboard’s Social 50 Chart, and though she didn’t break Vevo’s 24-hour view record — which she actually already holds for “Wrecking Ball” — “Adore You” already has 34 million views. Watch it here.

Also, the world almost fell apart when Miley talked sh*t about Beyoncé and tweens thought they were going to have to choose between their two sexed up pop idols. But it turned out to be fake, so that was too bad because tweens fighting is hilarious.

Tuesday

Rihanna got super turnt on NYE. So, turnt that this happened.

If you’re going with the same old “Get into shape” New Years Resolution, SlamXGarb has the outfit that’ll help you pump iron without looking like a punk.

Wednesday

If you’re actually trying to get creative with your New Years Resolution, go with “This year I’ll turn off my radio and pay attention to actually creative artists”. Then follow these 10 musicians via SlamXSounds.

Thursday

LA to NYC is less than an hour? Yeah, it’s a real possibility on a futuristic high speed train. Read about the new Hyperloop system here.

Rick Ross is suing LMFAO for copyright infringement because the line “Everyday I’m shufflin’” from the pop duo’s “Party Rock Anthem” sounds like the line “Everyday I’m hustlin’” from the Boss’ 2006 single “Hustlin’”. Seriously. Rolling Stone‘ll fill you in.

Friday

The newest high-brow pieces of art are spray paint cans because obviously. Check these out.

Flip phones are back: apparently if you own a one of those old school flip mobiles, you don’t have to worry about getting mugged in NYC’s Central Park. They’re like the PT Cruisers of cellphones. The Huffington Post has the story.
