Lexdray Talks Their Fall/Winter 2012 Collection

With the changing of seasons, we had the pleasure of talking to Lexdray about their new Fall/Winter 2012 Collection. Following the success of their debut ‘Classified’ Collection, the new season sees the addition of 5 different styles including: the London Garment Bag, Boulder Pack 2.0, Sao Paulo Sling, Monte Carlo Wallet, and the Oxford Suiter. The London Garment bag features an ingenious unique interior shelving system allowing you to avoid unpacking on short trips while the Sao Paulo Sling presents many solutions for photographers. My favorite is the Boulder Pack 2.0, an updated version of the original which I personally use everyday and is hard to imagine it can be improved upon.

SLAMXHYPE: What new bags/accessories are new to this collection?

Alex Drayer: We have 5 new styles. The London Garment, which is a one-of-a-kind garment bag with an internal shelving system. We have an updated Boulder Pack which is similar to the original Boulder with a few changes. It has a bit more internal space, it’s lighter in weight, khaki exterior, and a Lexdray custom camo-printed lining. The Sao Paulo Sling is another new piece. It was designed as an everyday carry with spots for an SLR, lens, camera gear, iPad etc. The Sao Paulo has a ton of nice smaller pockets with a place for all daily essentials and comes with a removable water-resistant cover. We also added a new wallet, the Monte Carlo Wallet. It has ample slots for all of your credit cards and an elastic band which wraps around the outside. And finally, we decided to sell the Oxford Suiter separately (as it comes with the London Garment). The Oxford Suiter was designed as a light-weight carry-on to house two Mens suits while traveling.

SLAMXHYPE: What bag and design feature are you most excited about?

Alex Drayer: I think I am most excited about the London Garment. Mostly because I like to see products that are completely unique and I’ve never seen anything else along these lines. I hate to unpack on short trips and that’s precisely what this bag was designed for.

SLAMXHYPE: What have you been doing, where have you been, since the last feature we did on Lexdray?

Alex Drayer: Working… with a little travel thrown into the mix and my new baby girl keeping me in line. We have some collaboration projects in the works that I’ve been working hard on and that I’m really excited about.

SLAMXHYPE: Can you tell us more about your project with Kid Robot?

Alex Drayer: I was asked by Jeff Staple to help design and produce a sling bag as part of the Kid Robot Black Collection. I think the bag turned out really nicely. It should be available for the holidays.

SLAMXHYPE: What else can we look forward to in 2013?

Alex Drayer: Unique collaboration projects, new styles, new colors of current styles and hopefully some projects where I get to design products other than bags.
