ellesse heritage have teamed up with five of the world’s most revered stores to present Fab Five – a collaborative project reworking five archive ellesse sneaker styles from the late 70s and 80s. As an extension to last year the designers were offered complete creative control, allowing them to change colours, fabrications and design details on each shoe. The project brings five unique tastes, subcultures and crafts to ellesse’s rich history. atmos, one of Tokyo’s premier sneaker stores, chose to rework the classic Marathon ’84, one of ellesse’s most celebrated styles. Bringing their signature abstract tastes to the table, atmos has dressed the sneaker in all over red pantone, symbolising good luck in Japan. Also featuring Picasso-inspired artwork and sock print to complete that eclectic Atmos touch, the result is a clean statement that shines a new light on the Marathon ’84. The atmos x ellesse Marathon ’84 will be available in the atmos store from October 19th, in both men’s and women’s sizes, as well as online from other Fab Five collaborating stores.
