Earlier this morning Facebook announced their newest mobile product aptly entitled Facebook Home from their Silicon Valley headquarters. While past rumors have circulated that there would be a Facebook Phone, Home is actually more of an Android replacement UI. Facebook’s selling point is to put people first, not apps, by putting Facebook at the forefront of your phone.For instance, your lockscreen will be replaced with the Cover Feed, which puts your FB newsfeed and message updates front and center. Your lockscreen will also feature full page image updates that you can double-tap to like.
Facebook Home will only be available from the Play Store on select phones starting April 12th in the US, with other countries to follow.
